BACKGROUND OF THE


NATIONAL AMERICAN ESKIMO DOG ASSOCIATION

The National American Eski:no Dqg Association was started by Mr. John L. Wilson and his group in Desoto, Missouri. The first meeting was held in November of 1969, and the first National American Eskimo Dog Show was held in May of 1970, in DeSota, Missouri. The National Shows are hosted by different state associations each year. Following is a listing of where the National Shows have been held:

  • 1977 – Mt. Vernon, Illinois
  • 1972 – Racine, Wisconsin
  • 1973 – Davison, Michigan
  • 1974 – Bellefontaine, Ohio
  • 1975 – London, Ontario, Canada
  • 1976 – Bordentown, New Jersey
  • 1977 – Indianapolis, Indiana
  • 1978 – Windsor, Ontario, Canada
  • 1979 – Mi1waukee, Wisconsin
  • 1980 – Fowlervi1le, Michigan
  • 1981 – North Canton, Ohio

In 1974 a National Rotating Spring Show was incorporated by the United Kennel Club, Inc., for the benefit of all state organizations west of the Mississippi River. Following is a listing of where the National Spring Rotating Shows have been held:

  • 1974 – Lakewood, California (CAEDA)
  • 1975 – Midwest CiEy, Oklahoma
  • 1976 – Watsonville, California (NI,IAEDA)
  • 1977 – San Antonio, Texas
  • 1978 – Portland, Oregon
  • 1979 – Reno, Nevada
  • 1980 – Monterey, California (CCAEDA)
  • 1981 – EL Monte, California (CAEDA)
  • 1982 – Midwest City, Oklahoma
