General Membership Meeting
Minutes – October 22, 2016
Regular Membership Meeting was called to order at 3:08 pm by Vice President Heidi Sheff.
NO Quorum was established (only had 11 people attend)
Secretary report – was pushed to the Board of Director meeting for approval.
Treasurer report – was pushed to the Board of Director meeting for approval.
General topics were discussed but nothing was agreed upon or voted on.
Adjourned at 3:36pm.
Board of Directors Meeting –
October 22, 2016
The Board of Director Meeting was called to order at 3:38pm by Vice President Heidi Sheff.
(14 present either in person or by proxy)
Secretary report – was published in the winter newsletter, approved by Denise Randall
Miller and seconded by Shane Groves.
Treasurer report – was published in the winter newsletter approved by Susan Bell and seconded by Sue O’Donnell.
OLD BUSINESS:
Membership update – 121 members, 117 voters, and 13 clubs.
Website – Shane is willing to maintain.
Judge’s Fee – leaving the fee the same at $900 (that fee includes everything for the judge – travel (airfare/mileage), tolls, parking, luggage, rental car, hotel, judging fee, etc.)
NOTE: if the National decides to go back to Gateway and UKC uses our National judge for the remainder of the weekend, the fee will be adjusted accordingly with UKC and the National
judge prior to the event. Motion made by Denise Randall Miller and seconded by Shane Groves to leave the cost at $900.
NEW BUSINESS:
Change to the By-Laws – approved by Shane Groves and seconded by Denise Randall Miller,
and approved by all either in person or by proxy. This is to be voted on by ALL members in good standing by a ballot with the elections in 2017. Current By-Law states, in Article VII (meetings), Section 2 (Quorum), A. The quorum for any general membership meeting shall be 20 members in good standing or 5% of the Membership, whichever is higher. At least (2) two members of the Board of Directors must attend and one must be from a different state than where the meeting is being held. Proposed to change Article VII (meetings), Section 2 (Quorum), A. to The Quorum for any general membership meeting shall be 5% of the Membership and members attending be in good standing. The 5% of the Membership excludes the Executive Board.
Future National updates:
- 2017 – NE Texas (motion was made by Suzanne O’Donnell and seconded by Debra Mitchell to have the 2017 National in conjunction with Gateway, approved by all (either in person or by proxy) (date will be posted once we get it from UKC).
- 2018 – New England (Massachusetts)
AWARDS:
#1 for 2015 goes to Suzanne O’Donnell & Renee Strong for GRCH Pat’s Irish Miracle NCIS Agent.
