The National American Eskimo Association was planned and formed by John L. Wilson, President, with the assistance of Dr. E.G. Fuhram, President of United Kennel Club, Inc. It is a non-profit corporation with a charter issued by the state of Missouri.

The first meeting was held November 8, 1969 from 10:00am to 4:00pm in De Soto, Missouri.
